What is the best exhaust for the WRX?
I'm in the market for an exhaust system and I was wondering who has the best one on the market. Which ones have people tried and what have been the results? If anyone could give me some help, that would be great.

I havent ordered one yet but I'm planning on buying one from Scoobie Sport, Ive heard from a few people that they are the best and they sound great. You can really hear the engine, check this link.

Hope this helps. It doesn't have th scooby sport but it has 12 different exhausts from different manufacturers.

What are you basing this on? Just because something is twice the cost of a standard catback and made of titanium, it's not automatically better.

I went with the TurboXS "Stealth" set up (that's the the full Turbo back kit w/out the muffler). I just ordered the Prodrive Muffler (great sound and not too loud). Generally if it's louder it's going to give you more power, that's the trade off, and it was worth not getting a few extra ponies to keep a lower profile with the cops and my neighbors. I have yet to get it on a dyno and won't until I get a UTEC but the gain in performance is certainly noticeable. The thing is TurboXS really took allot of time to help me over the phone on the installation of my DSB (Dual Stage Boost kit), and even more time talking me through a later boost problem (not related to the DSB) (there was a vacuum hose that had come loose). The point is their product support was excellent. The exhaust I purchased fit like a glove and the instillation was very easy, if time consuming. I've built some cars before and learned a long time ago how important support and a willingness to help the people who buy your products can be and I couldn't be happier with my choice to go with TurboXS.
Hey TurboXS, if your listening, I could use a Job...lol

Just ask Dan @ Godspeed. He's running this exhaust. It has been PROVEN to flow more than any other exhaust out there. Full 80mm piping all the way down. Super straight design, no resonators. Very nice system.

tension
I sense some tension between pimpwagon and teiva-boy. I am interested also to see some pictures of the kakimoto to see how straight the kakimoto is in comparison to the TurboXS. (hint, hint to anyone who has pictures of both). I was liking the HKS carbon ti but their downpipe sucks so I'm thinkin I'll get the carbon ti and someone else's downpipe or maybe just find the HKS somewhere cheap and get both. Is the kakimoto a turbo-back? Thanks.

For the 2.0l displacement our WRX's have, 2.5 " piping is pefect while keeping a little backpressure for great midrange power. I believe Scoobysport has kept to this diameter since their pre 02+ exhausts.
3 inch piping is great for absolute top end power due to least backpressure..supposedly the only sacrifice is some low to midrange torque and noise if "loud" bothers you.

oh and its not all 80mm. it tapers to 80mm from ~2.5" where it connects to the stock jdm downpipe.

if i had to do it over again i'd still get the kakimoto (maybe not the titanium version), but i'd go with a cusco dp

kakimoto
the kakimoto build quality is absolutely first rate
but the issue is a comparable quality downpipe jdm length i have the same turbo back as nqwan and am looking to change the dp to either cusco or a jdm sti one if and when kakimoto makes a us spec cat back our cars will have another great exhaust option
