Ok guys so i just bought and recieved a tbe, up-pipe, and ic hoses. From what ive read i need a torque wrench and a special tool to remove the egt sensor. I was wondering if any of you guys had these tools that i could borrow for a day. Also if you have any advice on tips to make installation easier it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -Todd-
Go to your local Autozone.
You can rent specialty tools like torque wrenchs, and whatever that other tool is that you think you need. They will charge you for the tools, but you get a full rfeund when you bring them back. Ask for there loaner tools.

14mm wrench will be able to take out the EGT on the uppipe...

Tips: Get torque specs and a torque wrench.
Don't hastle with trying to avoid unbolting the engine mount, on an 04 you just wont be able to get the stock uppipe out without jacking the motor up 2 inches.
To do this I would recommend having an impact wrench and air compressor.
Also, when you jack up the motor, use a phone book under the oil pan, or if you use wood, remember that you are jacking up the whole side of the motor, so even weight distribution on that oil pan is important!
You might have issues getting the stock IC hose from turbo to the IC, get creative, or get Samco IC hoses and those will be much easier to put on.
Good luck, give yourself 5 hours to do it, be thorough, cause you dont want to F things up.

got any pics of the "u' shaped heat shield, also are you refering to the turbo heat shield? If you are i wouldnt mind picking up the cusco unit, saying it fixes the problem

no, i'm refering to the lower heatshield that covers the exhaust manifold. In order to remove it you must remove the o2 sensor first. If you cut the top portion of the shield off, you will be left with a "U" and can simply slide the shield off and then have easy access to the o2 sensor. It isn't neccessary but it makes things easier if you ever need to remove it again.
Also i'm not sure if you want the bling or ease of the cusco shield, but modding the downpipe heatshield is fairly easy if you have a dremel.

sounds good, one question i did have was should i get the heat wrap to lower the temp in the engine bay. it makes sense that it will be a little bit lower given the removal of all the cats creates less friction and less heat, but is it something worth doing?
The stock downpipe has a ton of heatshielding. Switching it out with an aftermarket one will remove a lot of the shields. Your engine bay will be hotter than before.
I've run without the heatshield for a few weeks. You could see the heat rising out of the hoodscoop when you are stopped. I bought a speedmonkee HS and used that with great success for a while, until I got a JDM TMIC. I switched to a dremeled stock HS and it seems to work too, but I had a friend in Texas do the dremel work.
I highly recommend a heatshield, and of course I'd sell you my old speedmonkee one.
Personally, I think heat wrap is a bad idea. It holds moisture and any road salts next to the pipe and can lead to premature failure. I'd estimate that 100% of aftermarket exhaust manufacturers will not warrantee a pipe that was heatwrapped.
Now 1000 people will chime in that their heatwrapped pipes have lasted forever and that I'm a moron.

The uppipe install on my car seemed fairly simple with the right tools and time (Thanks again to racenut and 1badrex!).
