Up Pipe Install
ok well i finally got my up pipe ordered and i downloaded the perrin up pipe install directions and was blown away by the complexity just to change out a damn pipe. anyway, is it really neccsary to take out things like the intercooler, heat shield, air box, intercooler braket, o2 sensor and bracket....the list just keeps going on and on.
if u have better directions of tips...please IM me on aol. my sn is blakob7. or just leave the message on the thread and ill check it in a few days. thanks.

I was able to remove my up pipe without having to remove my intercooler. its just recommended so you have more room to work with. i did my up and down pipe install in about 5 hrs. the only thing that was hard was getting a crossed treaded bolt off on the exhaust manifold. kind odd it came from the factory cross treaded.

I used the vishnu instructions. They are very good.
You have to remove all of that to have working room to get the downpipe and uppipe off the turbo. You don't have to take off the turbo, but expect to jack your engine up a couple of inches.
Good luck.

the thing that worried me most was the jacking of the engine.. but it worked out fine.. only took me bout 3 hrs to do my uppipe install.. not hard.. more like a test of ur flexibility/persistence.
make sure the engine mount bolts line up on way down ! lol
oh 1 thing u may try instead of removing the o2 sensor b4 taking off the heat-shield..(which is PITA!!) .. i used tin snips and trimmed out a little section of the shield so i could remove it and leave the o2 sensor there... much easier to get the o2 sensor off... then again.. an o2 sensor wrench may have fixed that

I agree with this guy. It isn't hard, but it will take some time. I did the same thing with the heat sheilding. Just made it a little easier. I didn't take the turbo off, either. Hopefully, you have good tools to get to all the bolts. MAKE SURE YOU TORQUE EVERYTHING CORRECTLY!!
