Do you mean the stock uppipe? The only thing on a stock uppipe that could possibly be "shot" would be the catalytic converter. If it clogged up or something along those lines, you would have significantly reduced power and boost. There is also an EGT sensor in the upper section of the stock uppipe, after the cat, which can fail. If it does, it will generate a check engine light.
