TurboXs MBC question
I just bought a TurboXS RFL BOV and the high performance boost controller. Everything is hooked up and I reused some of the stock tubes which I have read can have restrictions, so I will be getting those replaced soon. I also have the stock boost guage. Before I got the MBC it went up to .1, now its going up to .12 since the MBC is in
I had it set a little higher and it was running extremely fast 1-3 gears, But in 4th gear it would shoot up to .14 when I floored it and quickly back to .13 and then usually fuel cut. So I turned it down slightly.
1) Is this normal
2) Are there any installations guides for this? I am having an awful time trying to find any info with pictures. I just want to make sure everything is using the correct tubes and if the factory boost gauge reads correctly if you bypass the factory solenoid(not sure if thats possible, I am a newb) Thanks! Justin

According ot the owner of Easy Street motor sports, the maximum you want to boost an other wise stock WRX is 16 psi. With fuel upgrades closer to 18. I installed a MBC. I'm using the stock gauge. You want to boost to .1, maybe a a hair over. Boosting to .15 or even .14 mpa will result in the destruction of yoru motor, in either you tubro seals or piston rings. .1 mpa is 14.5 psi which is also one bar. There for stock the maximum peak you should ever see is .1mpa. With an MBC you cna set it to stock, and still feel power increase because the boost is sustained higher longer. As you climb the different gears, the Boost controller wont be able to regulate the same amount of boost, using resulting in boosting creeping higher that the desired level. A;lso, you have to factor in where you put your controlelr, because they are subseptable to heat. When you look at all these factors, and realize your are very much playing with the life of your engine, you realize yous hould either go stock or get an electronic boost controller. Also, .15 mpa is 22 psi which means your basically going to kill the car. The perfect place to have your car is .11 MPA, 1.1 bar or 16 psi.
