turboXs bov rfl ?'s
turboXs bov rfl ?'s
I did a search but was unable to find out answers to my ?'s
I am getting the turbo Xs rfl bov for xmas and was wondering what is required as far as installation, I am getting the adapter plate as well, but what do you do with the hose that is left from the factory bov? the one used for the return...
secondly, does the BOV cause any cels? or any strange idling conditions? any other info you may have on this product will be greatly appreciated...
TIA

I had that bov got rid of it cause it was to loud, also it gave me a cel, but that was a easy fix. If you get a cel just put a few washers in the top and you should be good, if it satys on just disconect the negative on the battery for a minute.
I have one also. No CEL and install time is honestly about 10 minutes. VERY EASY!! The sound is like no other. I've scared many people walking on the street
. You'll love it. I have the blitz before and you could barely hear it. I was thinking of trying the HKS though, just cause I want to know how it sounds. Just my 2 cents.

If you want a cool sound go for the SARD R2D2. They are very hard to find but very cool sounding. As for the RFL, you need to hear it in person to really appriciate it - 120DB is huge - sound clips do not do it justice (well maybe if you pump it through a 500W stereo system with good tweeters you will get an idea).
i read stories (before the board crashed) that just this mod made some cars run richer/leaner. what's the story behind that and is it true? this may be one of my first mods...

From what I understand the car will run a little rich between shifts due to the air not being recirculated back to the intake. Running rich for second between shifts isn't going to hurt the car. I have a SARD BOV on the way. I will do some logging with my UTEC when I get it installed to verify this theory. And I would defiantely listen to a RFL installed before you buy it, it is car alarm loud. You can hear it blocks away (of course if that's what you are looking for this is the one).
does any aftermarket BOV make a car run rich in between shifts? yea i guess running rich in between shifts can't be very bad; it only happens for a split second. and yea i'm used to a super loud BOV, i had a loud one on my turbo civic.
