Turbo swap unsure need heaps of opinions
Hi guys I have a gc8 98 wrx with minor mods like
2 core Ali rad
Sti tmic
Red silicone cooler , intake , coolant hoses and red vac lines (don't reali matter just looks pretty )
Manual boost tee set on 0 but running a15 psi actuator
Xforce turbo back 3" stainless exhaust (no cat)
Cusco strut bar front
Pedlars adj coil overs
Apexi pod
Engine damper
Top gun leads
And at the moment I have a TD05 20G which I installed a few months back and I have recently been offered a vf30 and I'm wondering wat turbo would be better for different styles of driving / racing etc... And other mods I have sat in a box waiting to be installed are 850cc side feed jectors , apexi power fc and commander , fuel pump , stainless up pipe with 14 psi external gate and ultrex under body bracing etc ...

vf30 is close to the size of a 16G, which might give you a better idea of how it compares to a 20G.
20G is better suited to high power driving that doesn't mind some extra lag... open courses, drag, etc...
vf30 will be better suited to tight course driving that is more reliant on responsiveness and low end like autocross / gymkhana.
If you're currently running 15psi, then you aren't really pushing the limits of the 20G at all, and a vf30 at 15psi will not lose you much top end power, but will gain responsiveness and earlier spool. If you decide to keep the 20g, go get it tuned so you can make use of the extra power you have sitting untapped.
