TMIC question

is replacing the stock top mount with a larger core one worth doing if i dont plan on boosting pressure anytime soon?

I've been looking at the APS and i like the construction but dont know the benefits otherwise. My stock fins are dented and it looks like this would not be an issue with the APS. also considering an STI TMIC.

well the larger TMIC doest get heat soak as fast but when it does it stays longer. the lag wont be as bad as a FMIC. but when you are rolling underload you should get cooler temps going into the engine. you can fix teh fins just pull off the TMIC and put a zip tie through the back it worked for me if not take a flat head to it and bend them back. put a screen infont of it this time

Unless you're required to have a TMIC by some race rules and you're keeping a stock turbo, its not worth it. Its not so much the size, its the difference between sitting over the engine and infront of it.

I posted else where on the orum but check this out. im making 236whp with my mods and stock turbo/intercooler. I put the TXS top mount on and the car ran slower.. litteraly. I my car is tuned for 16.5 PSI and makes it no problem. bleeds out toward redline, but pulls. I put the top mount on and now its making less then 1 bar. should my EBC be correcting this? someone help me out here. Why wont the car boost the 16.5 psi with the larger IC? thanks
