It may not last as long, but at that price...you can afford to change it about 5-6 more times before it exceeds the OEM cost. Doesn't sound like hard decision to me. I believe the alternator and AC belts I got from Autozone when I installed my underdrive pulley were Gates branded and are working out fine.

I about had a heart attack when I got the price on the belt. I think I will go with the Gates belt. Ill post how it went. Also gonna replace the WP and the tensioner at the same time. I have alot of work to do this weekend. I have to adress a fuel leak as well under the intake somewhere, same one other people are having issues with.

Sorry no update yet, still havent had the time to do the install on the timing belt. I did however repair the fuel leak.....that was fun. For anyone getting ready to do that repair I recommend buying the after market turbo intake tube. Replacing the tube makes it way easier. You have to remove the intake manifold to get the stock tube out in one piece, the lines that leak are under the turbo inlet tube on the left side of the engine. Also replace the hose claps when you do it the stock clamps are a joke. My lines looked good still so I didnt replace them at the same time. I also found that I needed to replace alot of the vac lines to the wastegate after 100,000 miles they got a little hard and started to break every time I touched them. The job is a moderate skill level if you take your time. Also be sure to clean out your Throttle body while your in there. When I do the timing belt I will repost. IF anyone has questions on the repair please E-Mail me if you like fordfabwiz@hotmail.com
