Unhappy Thinking its time for new head gasket

So I have been having some smoke out the tail pipe. Its been hit and miss, not all the time. Did a compression test today and got these results

cylinder:
3)-141..............4)-110
1)-141..............2)-109

So guessing its about time for a new head gasket on the drivers side.

I picked up some Block Seal Head Gasket Repair to try and get some extra miles out of what ive got now. Has anyone used a product like this and had success?

It is a process of using it. Have to drain all the coolant and flush with water multiple times, then add sealant and let engine idle for 20-30mins. Then flush out the system again and let the car sit. Something along the lines of that anyways.

Any other ideas?

I'd get a leakdown test to pinpoint the cause of the compression numbers before jumping to any conclusions. It could be burnt exhaust valves. Does sound like a headgasket though.

Ya I think im still gunna try a leakdown to see if it could be burnt piston ring or something like that.

is your engine overheating, when you hit boost? is therer black, greasey pastey stuff in your oveflow bottle? i had these things, i had to get the headgasket changed. got cosworth ones, everything looks good now.

i ran on the ap2 map for economy, till i got it fixed, stoped the overheating. i read soemwhere thought that certain subarus have headgasket problems though, the fix was soem heead gasket conditioner, just dump it in the coolant. they sell it at subaru for like 2 bucks.

He did a leak down and there is air coming from the oil filler cap so probably not head gaskets

ya we are thinking it might be the oil ring around the pistons...

car has never overheated and the overflow tank looks pretty normal... but i guess either way if im getting to the pistons im going to do headgaskets anyways

Car Info: Legs.
The block seal gasket repair kit will clog the small passages in the radiator. Don't do it!

Check oil for caramel, milky colored residue on dipstick in addition to checking radiator fluid to confirm HG diagnosis
