Stromung & Resonator?

I just put on a Stromung 3" Dual Tip catback yesterday on my wagon. I didn't get a chance to drive at freeway speeds yet but my first impression was I love the low rumble. However, it may be just a touch too loud for a wagon cabin. It sounded like the exhaust tips were in my rear seat... sort of suprised me. I couldn't roll down my windows and listen to the exhaust because I just had my windows tinted too.
I'm going to drive around this week a little more to see if I can live with the sound level. I want to find out if anyone put in a resonator in the Stromung 3" midpipe and if you were happier with the result? Or are there any other options to tone down the sound level a notch?

Nope, nothing else you can do to the catback besides adding a resonator or at least a silencer (high-flow inline glasspack).
If it's mainly the noise that permeates into the cabin that bothers you, try using some of that adhesive-backed foam insulation under the carpeting and seats. Applying it to the roof might help cut down on resonance, too.

Try dynamatting (or raamat) the trunk area. I did my entire spare tire well on my wagon and it knocked down the noise considerably. I just recently did the area under the rear seats which cut out some more of the road noise. Doors are next when I get the time.

I did one layer and I only did the well. I haven't finished the rest of the car yet, so I haven't downloaded the pics to my website. I bought a 64 sqft roll on ebay and I probably used <1/4 of it to do the spare tire well, above the fuel tank access, under the rear seats, and inside the rear hatch. So maybe a total of 15 sqft.

I should get everything finished this weekend (depending on the weather) and I'll update this thread when I get the pics up.
