Stock Bypass valve is Best

Just took off my BOV that I've had on my car since I got it 2 years ago. OMG the stock bypass valve is WAY better. Don't get BOV's!!!!

what kind of bov did you have before? usually, when your bov is tuned right and clean, it will work as well as stock.

the HKS performs just as well, if not better than stock. A good working bov lets out as much pressure as soon as boost drops significantly into vacumme.

i'm not saying stock bovs are no good. they are great, and most people who drive subarus would never need to upgrade.

It's because under ~300 hp there is no need for an atmosphere vented BOV. The bypass or diverter valve sends the unused air back to the intake of the turbine. This way the blade have a little positive pressure on them next time you hit the gas reducing lag.

It is mainly better at mid-high rpms. Before, with the BOV(turbo xs) at higher rpms if I were to back off the throttle anywhere from 5000-7000 rpms there would be a cut off and the air would surge out the bov and make my car jolt like crazy, I tried adjusting it on multiple occations, but it never fixed the problem.

True... I don't have 300whp. I'm sure when you have a huge turbo it needs a bov(like urs Alex). But not on my little vf39.

I've had an APS BOV with no issues at all. I guess being 50/50 helps cause it only opens when boost gets high.

Ok, I just want to be fair to everyone.

You had TXS BOV. Then you put OEM one back and it feels better. Wouldn't it be correct to say that "OEM is better than TXS" and not "OEM pws joos all BOV omgwtfbbq"?

TXS valves have been known to leak. I have uninstalled a great number of them for that one reason.

Any "quality" BOV with resurculation kit would work BETTER than stock (stiffer spring).
Any "quality" BOV vented out would work better or same as stock with proper tuning.

HA HA. yeah like no BOV you ************ Idiot. Read the ******* stickies *******, or do a search you stupid ************.

I have a stock BPV, it works well. I have not even wanted to buy and aftermarket BOV. A good one costs a fortune, and even then like Alex said you have to tune them properly. Just too much work. I only run 18 psi and the stocker works good. My 2c.

ah good, you guys got the joke.
so anyway, when you say you have to tune to get decent results with a BOV. are you saying you have to tune the ecu? or tune the BOV?

i guess the point over at nasioc is that an intake and a BOV do nothing for performance on stock or mild setups with the 2.0. but they both sound so good. i've been tempted to get an intake and/or a BOV. actually with an intake you can hear the BPV pretty good from what i've heard. as it is now, i hacked my intake silencer (milk jug thing) but still have the elbow and snorkus installed. the turbo spool sounds awesome but i want more. more i tell you.

helix flex up
helix catted down
borla hush cat back
AP custom tune from eqtuning
