Im not sure, but the dealer near me quoted me $795 for the SPT muffler which only replaces the rear section of your exhaust. In my opinion, dont waste the money. You can get a full catback for less than what you spend on the OEM piece. Unless of course you are sticking to STI parts, then its a different story.

As I understand it, the SPT muffler (dealer accessory) is the Genome STI muffler (all stainless), which is a freeflow design, that is more like any aftermarket muffler out there (Prodrive, etc).

The Stock STI muffler is more like the Stock WRX muffler, so the tip is the only thing that shines. The rest is the same kind of material as the stock WRX muffler. From what I've read, it is not a totally freeflow design and maybe even a little restrictive somewhere on purpose, to help the VF30 spool up (rumors from forums).

Anyways, the Genome dealer option is like $875, while the stock STI muffler can be had for about $420 new(?).
