Stage 1 Switching to Sti Catback - Good or Bad?
Wassup everyone. I have an 03 WRX Vishnu tuned to Stage 1. I currently have the Helix non catted UP/DP mated to an N1 exhaust system. Unfortunatelly, it's really loud and my girlfriend can't stand the loudness / droning from the exhaust. Anyway, I am about to pick up an Sti catback and bolt it on to supress the sound, as well as to finally shut her up. I was just wondering if this is going to significantly reduce power and/or be bad for the car, since Ecutek thinks that it has a wide open exhaust system. I would rather do this setup than a Stealth back exhaust since I am getting a really good deal on this full Sti catback system. Thanks in advance for all the replies.
it will be fine, catbacks wont effect hp much unless you have a bigger turbo, then you probably want full 3" piping. just reset the ecu when you put on the sti catback so it can adapt to the piping
now if you added a cat, that would lose power.
