ssautochrome tbe install

If anyone was intrested in the exhaust kits on Ebay from ssautochrome I just did an install on my 02' on Sat. The exhuast isnt half bad really. The welds are tigged and the fit under thte car is pretty good. Although the gaskets they give you are not so great so you need some good sealent. I reused the turbo to downpipe and used sealent that we use for exhaust manifolds on the big diesels. Had to remove the lower part of the heat sheild and cut the upper one to clear the pipe. The hanger at the left rear on the muffler dosent line up right so I moved the hanger to the outside of the bracket to get it to hook up to the muffler hanger. The hanger that is just behind the rear end is too long to do any good so it needed to be shortened and rebent to fit correctly. The other hangers are fine. The one bracket that goes to the trans from the down pipe needs to be bent alittle and spaced up with a longer bolt to work. The finish on the exhaust is pretty good and it has a nice deep sound to it. Im not crazy about the 4.5 tip off of the muffler but I think I can live with it. I havent installed the uppipe yet but I will post if anyone wants to hear about it when I do the install. The kit was supposed to come with a header (which I changed my mind about using) but instead of a header they sent me a cat back for a Damn Tiburon....lol. Which I think I have sold for 165. So with the sale of that CB I spent a total of $115. Not too bad for a 3" TBE with an uppipe. Also the bungs are in good spots for the O2 and one supplied in the DP for an EGT. Hope this helps anyone.

I know that with honda's, ssautochrome made decent parts, but they were really prone to cracking at the welds, check it out every so often, make sure you don't develop an exhaust leak.

From whqt I understand they did have issues with some of the older exhaust sets for the WRX, but they redesigned it and fixed the issues people were complaining about. I will keep an eye on it as with any new parts I install on my cars.
