It may have been your exhaust hitting on something when you were shutting it off, when your car is cold, shake test it to see.

Let's see, you've got a "new" car which you abuse by street-racing against cars you can't possibly beat, and you've got aftermarket exhaust (and likely more mods) done to it -- what could possibly go wrong in that situation? Clearly it is the car's fault

LOL Shifting at 5K-Your tranny will love you.

Not surprising the SS caught up as it has better top end than a WRX with a stock turbo. Anyway I suggest you luanch your car a bit more gently.

You state the car is new, did you follow the 10,000 mile break in on the car? Can't really say what that sound is, but good luck and take more care on how you drive the car.
