I've installed the dp and catback but did not install the CEL fix.

Live like that for some while. The CEL came on and off usually in 50~100 miles intervals.

Tired of that and installed the CEL fix WITHOUT disconnecting the battery.....CEL does not go away for over 100 miles driving.

Am I screwed because I did not disconnect the battery? Will dis/reconnecting the battery now be fine?

Also I heard from a smog shop that the CEL instance will stay in the memory even if I dis/reconnect the battery so smog check will fail....is there a way to clear the ECU's memory?

 

I went to smog check, with a catless system. I didn't install CEL fix for the O2 sensor. CEL comes on/off ocassionally.

The guy there told me that since I have CEL and I will not pass.

I asked what if we do it when it's off. He said the CEL will stay in memory even when it's off.

OOOOh sit! Does that mean even if I get the CEL fix I still can't pass smog check?

If it's true that what the fark is the CEL fix for? Just an eye candy so I don't need to see that annoying sign?

No I'm only concerned with the CEL thing.
I'm not concerned with other stuff. Why? Well because I use blah blah with blah blah from blah blah so therefore blah blah.

 

kinda weird how you will pass smog without cats... but the cel fix (resistors) tricks the ecu to think that you have a cat.

i would just put the downpipe back in and get it checked. no blah blah blah to do
