Is the silencer robbing power?
Is the silencer robbing power?
I have on my car:
Perrin Uppipe
Helix Downpipe
Apex'i GT Spec
The Apex'i comes with a silencer that fits in with a single bolt. I like driving around town with this on as it quiets the system quite a bit to make it bearable when not on the track. Does this rob power away from the car though? I had the car tested at 215hp on Vishnu dyno with the ECUtek and would like to keep it that strong all the time
Or does anyone have a recommendation on a replacement muffler that would keep it quiet but still a 3" system? Thanks

I have the Tanabe Super Racing Medallion exhaust. I love the sound of it without the silencer, but I put the silencer in for the winter time. I don't know if I'm crazy or what, but I could swear it spools up quicker and I have more power WITH the silencer in. I heard that you need some backpressure with a turbo charger, so maybe I'm actually running better with the silencer in.
