Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Short/Long Blocks for the WRX

I am looking at These Blocks and I have some questions that I hope someone can help with.

1) What are the differences between the 2002 WRX engine and the EJ20K or the EJ20 Legacy engines shown there.

2) Would either of those bad boys bolt up to the 02 WRX's tranny?

3) Does anyone know of any other sites with short / long blocks for sale?

The reason that I am looking for a short or long block is this: I want to learn much more about how the boxer's work, and I would really not mind building one up from scratch myself. I have never done an engine buildup, and if I can't find any Suby blocks, I will be forced to buy a 302 or 351 from those crappy US makers and learn on that... <So someone help me help Suby!>

I just saw some on the Cobb site yesterday. www.cobb.com . They have short blocks (2.0, 2.2, and 2.5) for sale with forged internals and performance heads.

I've been thinking about doing a 2.5 on my WRX in a year or so. By then I'll own it and can't see dropping the dime on an Sti.
