Regular (87 Octane) Gas in WRX?

The manual reccomends 91 octane I believe. An off the shelf octane booster will give you like .01 of an octane point so it's pointless.

No, it recommends 93, but 91 octane is okay.

For the WRX it says to use "premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 AKI or higher. If premium unleaded gasoline is not available, regular unleaded gasoline with octane rating of 87 AKI or higher may be temporarily used."

I've got an 88 Honda Civic dx. I commute to work in it and I usually get around 38mpg, & I use 87. Plus I don't care who parks next to me or taps my bumper or, or, or etc. Then on weekends I drive my Sube

p.s.
I think I paid $1,100 for it.

91 is usually all you can find here in California. However, there are some Unocal 76 stations (and others) that sell unleaded racing fuel and/or you can use an alternative such as toluene. I have a local 76 that even sells 100 octane at the pump here in Mission Viejo (So Cal). Keep in mind that 91 octane is perfectly fine in the WRX as outlined in the owners manual (as I pointed out earlier):

"premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 AKI or higher. If premium unleaded gasoline is not available, regular unleaded gasoline with octane rating of 87 AKI or higher may be temporarily used."

87 octane is definetly bad and you really shouldn't mix octanes if you can avoid it. Octane boosters are bogus, just do the math. Into a 15gallon gas tank you pour 1q of liquid and its going to boost your octane level? Only if its rocket fuel.

I think it might be 0.1

In any case octane booster isn't worth it. Many people have the misconception that since it claims to raise your octane 1-2 points that it can turn 91 octane into 92 or 93. What it does is make it 91.1 -91.2.
