Quick gasket question...

...long explaination.

i recently purchased a dc sports exhaust and it has worked out great but the flages are rusting (like others according to the review post). anyway, i would like to keep it so i want to wire brush the rust off and primer the flages. i would like to make sure i get it all so i want to remove the exhaust to do it. where is the quick question you ask?

after i remove the exhaust, do i need to put new gaskets on the pipes or can i use the orignals assuming they come off in good shape?

tia

For a catback, you shouldn't need new gaskets. If you replace the downpipe, BUY A NEW GASKET. If you don't, there is a very high probability that you will get leaks. I have found that it is basically impossible to reuse either uppipe or downpipe gaskets without leaks. They don't cost that much, and it is really inconvenient/annoying to have leaks.
