prodrive performance packs
the prodrive stage 3 sounds like a good deal but I cant seem to find much info on it besides the claimed +68 whp. I am looking for data such as 0-60, 1/4 mi, dyno graphs, also construction/design of uppipe and downpipe.
The prices are about the same so I am deciding btwn this vs. vishnu stage 1.
I would appreciate any help.

There isn't too much else known about it, other than what you just said. I have a stage2 pre-ordered, and the word from Prodrive is that Stage 1 will be stateside in another few weeks, with Stage 2 and 3 to follow sometime around April/May -- until that time, they may release some more info, they may not. Dyno plots, 0-60, 1/4 etc... should be more obtainable closer to the shipment dates of the first round of "packs."
I got my pre-order from http://www.spimotorsports.com

The April issue of Super Street has a review of the package. No dyno #s or anything, but they seemed to like it. I'm also considering it in place of TXS stage 2/3 and Vishnu stage 1.
It doesn't mention an uppipe cat. It says "turbo-back exhaust, uppipe, and re-flashed ECU resulted in...just over 300hp to the crank" and "although the factory catalytic converter is removed, it is replaced with a high-flowing piece." I'm assuming the uppipe is catless and there's a high-flow cat in the down or midpipe.

sounds like an excellent kit, I cant belive prodrive came out with all this stuff for such good prices! i also bet that the dealerships would give much less hassle for this upgrade vs. other brands since it is a dealer option on new cars in UK (i think thats what i read somewhere).

Prodrive kits as dealer option [warranty?]
I also read Super Streets' article on Prodrive kits, must admit, I was interested. I live close to a Suby dealership that's supposed to be "forgiving" concerning aftermarket mods vs. warranty. [ According to SCC mag]. Sure enough, on their website, ALL the new Prodrive kits are available for order, and install upon arrival. Called service manager last week, and inquired about impact on warranty. " all packages void warranty", according to service manager.
I can't really think of a worse scenerio: Having your Suby dealership perform mods that instantly void a warranty, all completely documented in their data base. Personally, I feel much safer going with an eatablished independant for my aftermarket mods.
Sincerely, Collins

prodrive install through dealer
dam I can't believe they flat out said it will void your warranty. I could understand the drivetrain warranty, but no more than that. I thought warranty couldnt be flat out "voided" and as long as nothing aftermarket on your car was affecting a specific part, that part would be covered. If my a/c broke and they wouldn't fix it because I had a prodrive kit installed by subaru techs i would not be happy to say the least.

Voided warranty
When I mentioned that a Prodrive kit would void the warranty, according to the service manager I should have been more specific. I asked him if it would "void" the warranty, and he replied Yes". I assumed it was "just' the powertrain, not the entire warranty. As I mentioned, this dealership is considered generous re: mods. So if they would void the warranty, it would probably be voided at more conservative dealerships.

The prodrive kits are as followed:
Stock car measured ~160whp
Stage 1 - Just the muffler, but not the oval tip - this one is round, slightly better flowing, ic hoses, and ECUTek tuning
~180 WHP
Stage 2 - Ditto, but revised ECUTek and removal of 3rd cat with "straight" pipe.
~200WHP
Stage 3 - Ditto, further revised ECUTek, removal of uppipe cat with new uppipe (with flex joint) and downpipe cat, replaced with new downpipe with HIGHFLOW cat.
~228WHP
There are rumors floating aroudn that they are trying to make Stage 1 CARB certified, which then, in turn, MAY get SOA's seal of approval - POSSIBLY - this is still a HUGE rumor. Since Stage 2/3 involve removal of catalytic converters, there isn't a snowballs chance in hell that it will pass CARB nor an approval by SOA, as removing a functional cat that isn't >7 years old is a federal offense. (I think)
