Open Air Box?

Hey guys a couple of my friends told me that running open air box would actually make the sound of the turbo more audible and possibly gain slightly...others told me not to and that dirt n water will end up goin in intake just wondering wat you all think

You can if you want to. My advice is just remove the filter and have some kind of small fence net on the hole of the intake.

Uhh don't remove the filter. Thats just stupid.

Remove the silencer. Its kinda tricky but not bad. Take off the snorkel and you'll see a bolt in the fender. Remove it. Jack up the car, pull the inner-fender lining down and youll see the big silencer. Pull it down until you can get it out.

Its not going to give you any gain in performance, just make the car louder especially under turbo...

on my car i let everything in tact except the silencer in the fender. I even the snorkel is ON there. BLITZ make a thing that turns ur airbox into a open box, at least the top

if you just remove all the stuff just to hear more of your cool turbo and Bypass valve sound you are just wasting your time. not even that much louder. buy a real intake and bov for noise.

What about the Supra and drag car guys? They run open turbo, you can see the wheel spinning and are outside the car.

Like this:
They run on a prepped surface with little or no chance of water, dirt or rocks getting sucked into the turbo.
