The official PERRIN™ Performance Q&A Thread..
Hello again,
First let me thank you for your continued patronage and support of PERRIN™ Performance Products. I-Club as a group has been very influencial in our success in the WRX, STi, Impreza and now Legacy GT, BAJA Turbo, Forester XT market. We value your business but more importantly your opinions, feedback and concerns. Our goal is to make each one of our potential customers happy and confident with the money they have worked hard to earn and are now investing in performance or visual improvements to their vehicle.
This thread is specifically designed for our engineers, sales people and marketing staff to address any concerns you may have, questions about a new or old product, parts combatibility and general technical advice. We welcome you to offer up anything that we can help you with. All questions will be answered in detail using factual information and promptly! We intend to revisit this thread on a daily basis to keep on top of what ever is of interest on that particular day. Feel free to also voice any concerns you have about any product. From how it works, how much it costs, and also if you would like to see something different.
As always thanks in advance for the feedback. We appreciate it! Finally I can always be reached personally at our offices via e-mail or phone if something is not being answered properly here.

Awesome! ... thanks for showing up here guys .... with that, what is your stance on Cold air intakes/ Ram air intakes for the WRX/STi? What have you guys done you make sure the MAF readings don't come out wrong? Obviously you need to have the correct diameter piping to make sure the readings are correct and the engine doesn't run into lean conditions .... please explain how the AFR was affected compared to stock with the install of one of your intakes ...

Good question..
our stance has always been that if done properly that realistic gains can be had. When you say 'cold-air' that may refer to two different styles of intake systems. Several companies make two different versions: a short underhood version and a longer cold air style. One the most prominent difference between these is the style, one of the least impressive differences is performance. Because the vehicle is turbocharged and the inherit properties of air are such that when compressed the temperature will rise. Combined with the unit doing the compressing (the turbo) is ran from exhaust/heat the minor difference in inlet temperatre from the longer intake is nearly and completely eaten up in the turbo. (We do market both but we prescribe to the honesty is better theory!)
If the intake is made properly then MAF signals will be correct and combined with the removal of the airbox and the associated restriction, HP and TRQ are increased. If an ECU or similar piggy back has been tuned for a 'wrong' intake then the addition of one that works properly can be an issue. Otherwise, intakes can be used without concern. AF is not changed with the addition of a proper intake system.
Thanks for asking. Let us know if we can help further!

That's easy...
There isn't a "sensor" there. What is there is a jumper wire that tells the ECU that the PCV system is connected. You leave the system functioning after the installation. Instructions included in the kit explain how to jumper the grey plug in question. E-mail us for instructions.
Thanks.
