Not sure what to get when returning to states
I need some help. I have been living in Japan for about 5 years now. I own a 93 WRX. I am coming back to the states in Aug. I also have a parts car so I can bring some things back. But my problem is that I don't know what to do. My money is low I am in the Military. But I know Subaru pretty well I've done engine swaps and taken my tranny off 5 times. I was going to get a 2.5 rs and put my TD05h and manifold on it but I've been reading that thats not a good Idea. And I don't think my spare motor is any good to bring back. So is it worth it to turbo an rs. Or is the EJ20 that much better. Because I could bring back the harness and my Mine's Comp and get a motor there. Hell I don't know I keep going back and forth. Also I have a lot of stock parts if anyone needs them. But I am in Japan so shipping will be a little expensive. Someone please help me make up my mind.

Its a pain in the @$$ to bring an import onto U.S. soil and get it registed (look at MotoRex). If I had the parts like you seem to have I would have one of your buddy's send you your engine when you get to your new station (I'm pretty sure your a Marine like myself and can trust a good friend) and slap your engine and go fast goodies into a 2.5rs. Your only problem may be getting parts for and engine they didn't make over here but some other guys on the forum may be able to lend you a hand in that and also you may have connections over there already that you can use to help you out. Plus you get the satisfation of knowing that yuo have somthing quite different from the average tuner and bragging rights on a real JDM engine/parts in the BS circles.
