Need advice on EWG set up

I will be re-tuning at the end of March and have picked up a Helix V3 uppipe with optional EWG feature. I am thinking of going externally gated but I am not sure what .bar spring I should get in a Tial gate.

My current turbo is a Greddy T518Z with Greddy internal actuator. It has a 12psi spring. I am running about 24psi max boost, on 91 octane with meth injection.

I guess my question is: Are there any downfalls if I were to pick up a Tial gate with a .6bar spring, opposed to a .8 or .9bar spring?

Sorry for the seemingly newb question, but I would initially assume that the lower the spring pressure, the better, as it would allow the gasses to pass through the gate that much earlier, for shortended spool time...??

Any help/advice is appreciated.

wouldnt you need a stronger spring if your gonna run more boost. itll hold more. from what i understand the wastegate opens according to the spring rate and boost controller. if you were to get a .9bar spring, id think it could hold more boost consistantly than a .6bar spring.

That's primarily my question.

I know the .6bar spring would open the WG ealrier, but I am not sure if it would adversly affect boost control or max boost levels.

The only issue I had w/ my .6 bar spring was the fact that is cracked open early. It didn't necessarily hinder boost but it does get loud to early for street driving. I am not running 19psi total spring pressure then a MBC to raise it to 22-23psi.

If you are running a EBC or aftermarket solenoid spring pressure is irrelevent. Only on MBC(where the top port is open to atmosphere) does spring pressure really play an important role.

Thanks. yeah, if figure I'd have to get a large spring to accommodate my boost levels if I stayed with the Cobb AP and prodrive solenoid. I am not going to go ewg right now. Too much of a hassle with my tune coming up soon.

w/ the Prodriver(or GM or Perrin/Grainger) solenoid(s), spring pressure IS irrelevent.
