Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

I say leave the pulley because with a lighter pulley the car does not have to work as hard. When i put mine on i noticed that the rpm dropped a cruising speed on the highway and engine response improved with stop and go driving.

leave the pully
some say that since the underdirve pullies arnt a harmonic ballincer there is a risk of shattering your crankshaft because of the imballance.
Others say that your barrings and seals will wear out quicker because of the vibration of the crank shaft not being ballanced. Personally I have run the cheepest pullies you could ever imagine on every car I own and have never encountered these issues....
Come to think of it I have never had any issues with underdrive pullies.. on any car Ive owned. other than remembering what size belts I needed when replacement time came around.
As far as proformance gain from it.... I have fount it to be placebo.. thinking your car is accelerating quicker than normal... but I guess people have actuall number to back up gains. I phrased it like this to demonstrate the diffrance to my friend. I held the ballancer pully in my hand and rotated it back and forth, I then did the same to the light weight one. It was obvious that I could rotate the light one alot quicker than the ballancer one... That has to be saving your engine work some where.

I've had the Vishnu pulley on my '02 for at least 50,000 miles - no ill effects so far. As for performance improvement, I can't tell (but it shouldn't be any worse ).
