My belt tentioner broke, (the plastic thing that comes out of the pulley where the bolt goes into), for the a/c. My question is, can i drive the car like that if i just remove the belt?

I've been driving my '02 WRX w/o the AC belt since the compressor started to die , +3K mi, no problems

Yeah, take the belt off, replace the tentioner and put the belt back on after.

I did the exact same thing.... ;-) I just ordered a new piece from subaruparts.com, put it on and then everything was happy. :-)
