mrt hood scoop
I read an article in sport compact car dec 2003 issue project wrx pg 193. They show two hood scoops, a STi one and the MRT one next to it. It appears to have a slight different angle more like the MY04 hood scoop and has no reinforcing ridges inside the mouth. The article refers www.isrperformance.com but I dont find the hood scoop listed. I tried to contact them and emailed them also.
I was just courious if anyone knows or owns one of these scoops. I was thinking of getting the STi one but its alil over played and I like this style better.
If there are other sites that sell it or what MRT website is i would appreciate it. I did a search and couldnt find it.

Here's the scoop. Check the MRT home page for dealers in CA.
EDIT: Personally, I like the genuine STi scoop which you can buy from a number of vendors already painted. I also like the factory vertical reinforcements which allow a screen to be fitted behind the opening.

i browsed mrt site in australia
They have a hood scoop that looks like the new STi scoops with the forward lean for the MY02-03 bug eyes this scoop is huge. It almost looks too big but dam that is different . I may end up going this direction now since i havent seen anyone with this scoop on the bug eyes at least in my neck of the woods.

i found one for decent price
i called a vendor of mrt in the states at www.isrperformance.com
I told her what i was looking for and i like the replica STi 04 that fits teh MY02 and03. I asked her the price and she told me $215 and no tax and like 15 to ship. I have heard some places are asking like 280 and if you get directly from MRT in new zealand you will pay through the nose in shipping and other fees. She told me in 10 days more will be coming in so Ill be getting one soon i hope. I like the scoops for the MY04 and was jealous. I knew it was only a matter of time till some one made one. I was going to get the regular MY02-03 STi scoop but this kicks !@# thanks alot for the posts

ps when i get it and painted and installed ill post pics to see how it looks on platinum silver metallic. I have only seen it installed on wrb one.

I agree with Alan on the Sti hood scoop. i had some kids attempt to put rocks in my hood scoop a month ago and they only got one inside due to the screen.
Get one from MPJ so the vertical supports aren't painted.

Seriously though, just sell and trade in.Admiteddly I was tempted to get the MRT 04-ish one. But once I saw the STi on my hood, I was hooked.
