modding a wrx
dude...
first off, forget about the intake...many PROFESSIONAL tuners (Shiv, TurboXS, etc) as well as people that own WRX's has said that it does not do much of anything, except throw off A/F ratios.
Secondly, go with a nice uppipe, downpipe, 2.5 - 3" turbo back exhaust, upgraded brakes, and a UTEC or some kind of Engine Tuning Module. Rims/tires. Gauges. (Not in any specific order).
Lastly, search...there is TONS of info. about the best combos.
Done.

I suppose that you...
could do all that. Remember, though, if this is your first turbo AWD car, you might want to spend a little bit of money to take a driving class...to make the driver a little more attuned to the vehicle.
Yeah, all the go fast-bits seem nice and all, but there have been lots of people that think they are the shiznit, and end up posting two/three weeks later, with pics of their cracked up cars.
Remember, this car is powerful to begin with...and to add stuff to it, without knowing its true characteristics may/may not be the best idea. Educate yourself - go to auto-x, driving school, tracks, and THEN decide what mods you would need.
Going fast has it's advantages, but remember, slowing down is an issue, and so are other drivers. Remember also to be careful when "street racing" as other's will not be too accepting of your decision to do so (lemme forwarn you about that!!!!).
good luck, and enjoy your ride.

inthedeck I am well aware of all that you are saying. All the cars that I have owned/ driven I have respected the boundaries. As far as driving schools I went to a couple here and there in my BMW granted it wasn't an AWD but after I am done breaking in the car I am definately going to Auto X or trak day or something etc etc.
Thanks for your input
