Megan Racing "Black" Catback Installed

Megan Racing "Black" Catback Installed

Got really bored, and have never heard my boxer sound yet. Went with this brand because of the reviews and the cheap price. (I paid $375 shipped.) Very impressed with the packaging and quality. The tip was covered in a thick cardboard tube, and every piece was wrapped in thick bubblewrap. The box was pretty heavy, 38 lbs. Install went on easy, no issues. The very high quality item is the dual adapters included, which mate to either a stock downpipe doughnut, or an aftermarket flat flange downpipe. It came with all 3 gaskets needed, and very nice new nuts and bolts which were flawless.

I have not fired this up yet. I am saving it in anticipation for my first drive.

Wow, that looks to be a nice piece.

I guess Megan racing has come quite a way from a few years ago.

They have bro. I remember in 2002 they were laughed at all the time. They have come a long way since then, and very rarely get a bad review on anything anymore.

Yeah congratulations on getting a Megan Racing catback.
Wow I'm amazed how great the quality is.
I know one other person that got the Megan Racing
catback and they were very happy with the sound
and quality.I would definitely consider getting one if
I didn't already spend a fortune on the Cobb catback lol.

I was planning on getting the Cobb for months until I finally found this. Cobb (and most others) are way too expensive.

I know it's pretty expensive but it's a really quality peice.
It's all stainless steel and the fitment was perfect.
Cobb Tuning makes excellent products for Subaru's that's for sure.

I could see how it could get annoying without the silencer day after day. It's pretty burley sounding without it. Thick and throaty, but not deafening. Not even much freeway drone at all, even at 80mph. But acceleration is very obvious to other people when you're on the freeway. I'll prob put the silencer back in for the middle ground.

how about around town driving? pretty loud without the silencer?
The exhaust looks good. I almost got this exhaust. I was ready to buy it but nobody had it in stock. Then I found a nice used Tanabe Touring for about the same price and got that one instead.

Well, I've tested this back and forth and made a decision. I won't be keeping it. Without the silencer it is too loud for me for daily driving and gets too much attention. Sounds way too mean. With the silencer its just as quiet as stock, and not worth having in that case. Also its hard to stomach the 1.5" escape hole when running the silencer, when the stock is even bigger than that, plus looks better to me.

Would sell for $300 picked up. 2 days use, brand new. Local only of course. I might make an ad soon. I wont uninstall it until the money is handed over, I dont want to do it for nothing.

even though the escape hole is 1.5", i'm sure the muffler is much less restrictive than the stock one. it must still flow better than stock.
