MBC used as restrictor pill...

I have read a little on a mbc being used instead of the factory restrictor pill in the hose coming from the turbo outlet. Anyone know if this works? I am wondering if doing so I could still effectivley raise the boost while not having the dreaded pt/fb associated with mbc's. Also, can anyone tell me if the pill is needed when using a mbc normally? I have used the hose from the turbo to the mbc without it, and had no problems, but read somewhere its still needed? Anyone?

if you want to affectively raise boost, safely. Get a CobbAP. PTFB is not the ONLY issue with MBCs.

So, does anyone know? I am fully aware of mbc's and the negative effects on the motor, so please help if anybody can answer my question. I'm not about to spend 600 bucks on an ap yet.

We've answered you, you are not listening.

Raising boost w/o adjusting fuel & timing isn't a safe way of making power.

If you don't want to spend $600 on an AP, look into Enginuity & OpenECU, it'll only cost you ~$90 for the cable & several hours worth of reading to use the software properly.

Theoritically using an MBC as a 'pill' will still produce the same PTFB issues & the CL/OL issues found on the '04-05 WRXs.

The pill is not needed when using a MBC(no matter how much I recommend against it). The pill is used to restrict pressure to the stock Boost control solenoid(BCS). Stock, the BCS is used in a bleed configuration, if the pill was not used in the original way the car would only boost ~7psi(wastegate pressure).

NOW you've answered my question, so thanks.
