Low Boost

I have a 02 wrx with a Borla Hush cat back but only getting about .05Mpa or 7.3psi of boost. I was getting the same boost before the cat back also. What could be the problem? I ordered Cobb's AccessPORT so should I wait until that arrives to see about higher boost or bring my car to the dealership to have it checked out? I do not know if the previous owner had any mods (maybe boost controller???) on the car. Can the car be missing the brass restrictor? If so does any one have a pic of where it goes?
If its still under warranty I would take it in before the Accessport is installed. There is a pic of the location your looking for here. http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/sho...?threadid=1564

Well... the ecu restart did not do the trick, even lowered my boost to .04mpa. What I did find is that the previous owner must have had a boost controller on the car. My findings were--- the 3/16" hoses were definitely after market (very poor quality), NO in-line coupling (at all!!!), and no brass restrictor. If anyone knows the exact parts number for all of these parts please pm me:
in-line coupling
brass restrictor
new 'T' connector
I am going to perform a search for them and order through Subaru. And to think all this time, I thought my rex was quick!!!
Thanks again for all the assistance.

I dont think there is a coupler and a restrictor. Im pretty sure there is only a restrictor and a T. The restrictor (coupler) between the boost silinoid and wastegate isnt made of brass its black plastic. there is a pic of it on that link I gave you. Are you sure your looking at the right spot? Someone on the boards thought he was in the right spot and he wasnt. He found a brass coupler but it was on the drivers side of the ic and he should have been on the passenger side of the ic (by the turbo). If you thought your car was fast are sure your boost gauge is working good? I would think your car would be pretty slow with such a low amount of boost.
Good luck.
Good luck.

any possibility that a cracked hose from the turbo to bov could cause low boost? I ask b/c my boost gauge flutters, and i only get up to 9-10psi. I checked my i/c hoses and they seem to be fine, and so is the restrictor hose and coupling. Next thing to check would be the uppipe gaskets. any thoughts?
yeah, i slit the hose, and put a brass T fitting to the gauge. cant figure out why im getting low boost. I'm not getting any whistling/screeching sounds coming from the uppipe, so i dont know?
