Let's hear some GOOD stories about WRX's.
It seems like most of the threads on here are about how much of a problem the poster's WRX is; how they have major problems with SOA, CEL's with every mod, excessive oil consumption, broken gearboxes... you get the picture. what I want to know is: why so many problems? I have an '03 wrx automatic. it's not stock, but it's not heavily modded. up-pipe, vf34, reflash, and cat back... that is the extent of my mods so far. i've racked up over 30,000 miles in the first year, and these are not easy freeway miles. I've never had a CEL, not even from the up-pipe. no noticeable oil consumption. in fact, the only times it's even been to a shop (not including mods) are for oil changes and 1 warranty claim for a noisy seat (creaks a lot).
lets hear about some other good ownership experiences...

the only problem i've had with mine was a broken cupholder (they're a crap design to begin with) and it was replaced under warranty. i have 22k on a highly modified car, and drive it like i own it on a regular basis. no CELs despite an up/down pipe and modified turbo. the biggest complaint that i have right now is that the car has turned into a rattle trap, but thats because of all the suspension work.

I drove my WRX of a 200ft cliff and it just kept going! Not scratch! And the seatbelts worked like a charm!
LOL, what do you want?! 10,000 people posting "All working fine!" or "I got laid cuz some hottie really liked my WRX!"
Heh, the good stories about WRXs are found in WRC, USTCC and JGTC , etc, etc ... and PS/2 Gran Turismo

j/k i'm actually curious about why some people have nothing but problems with their cars, when other people have absolutely no (knock on wood) problems at all. i guess i just got tired of reading the countless threads about fuel smell, cold air intakes, and the like.
I raced my friends Lancer Evo VIII against my stock 03' WRX and beat it! is that a good enough story? Plus I think my interior looks better than the Lancer Evos =) ..... On a side not I also think the 02-03 WRXs look much better than the '04 WRXs.... I would buy an STi for the preformance but that car is just plain Fugly!!! ... I personally feel Subarus have never been good looking, but I finally succumed to the bug-eyes =) ..... I just can't get over how Fugly the STi is .... what a waste ....
yea whats the deal I just turned 30,000 on my 02 wrx, I changed out the brake juice and put new braided stainless steel brake lines on my car today and I've never had any problems other than 2 speeding tickets (my V-1 has saved my but 100's of times but don't work to good when they hide around fast corners and at the bottom of hills). A happy story: a kid just got a 03 wrx in town he's a friend of a friend so we met up and talked some wrx jive, and I sold him my old COBB cat back for $400 in good shape man what a smile he had on his face after he put it on.

I've been really happy with my WRX. I think about the cars I considered and could have purchased - 350z, waited and got an RX8 and I realize that the best car of those is easily the WRX.
And I'm not talking about 0-60, braking or handling, I'm talking about real world every day use. The WRX has more than enough power to get you and your friends around in good time. It's comfortable for four people - I even rode an hour in the back seat of a WRX with two STi tires in the seat next to me - this was after traveling an hour in the back seat to pick up the tires and I was perfectly comfortable. The WRX can pretty much get you anywhere - it has great control in the wet and even with performance tires the car is more than competent in the snow.
I can pile 3 friends and our gear for a night or two out of town in the car and haul *** to our destination in comfort and style with good gas mileage. And if we wreck, we've got the safety of a car rated best pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
If I had the money, my perfect two cars for every day use and driving would be a WRX sedan AND a WRX wagon

I have had no problems with my WRX it has been awesome I have over 10K on the OD and I really enjoy everything about it. It is the first car I have had were I mod it and I can acutually feel the difference. I have been asked if I would get something other than the WRX and I look back and I am really happy with the decision I made.

only problems my car has had for the most part is from my own abuse
bent wheel, busted tire, busted oil pan, bent subframe, bent control arms maybe, everything else under the car bent, dent in fuel tank, etc
oh yeah and the water/mud i found in the intake (after the filter) probably isn't good but thats what i get for driving through rivers that are about 3 feet deep
but it still runs fine, so i am happy

Why do I like my wrx?
Midnight powerslides and donuts in an icy snow covered parking lot.
Muddy gravel trails.
Ablility to venture into the snow.
Four doors, and a useable trunk.
And being able to spank the kid down the street in his riced out Civic in my family sedan with a baby seat in back.
