Question intercooler water spray?

I have been reading up on various effects of water-spray on air-to-air intercoolers, some resources qoute decent gains of intercooler efficiency when soaking the IC with a fine mist of ambient temp water (esp. when IC is heat-soaked after slogging along in slow traffic, or idling).

I'm sure we've all noticed the slump in power when you get on the gas on a HOT day, after being stuck in stop-and-go for 10 minutes or so. Has anybody tried any of the water spray kits available? Did it truly make an appreciable difference, or is it just a novelty? Which kits do you prefer? I was looking at the STi RA kit which places the large tank behind the rear seat.....what do you think?

thanks for any advice/opinions

I haven't really tried any of the water sprays, but I saw my friend' Civic that turned his windshield spray and made it an intercooler spray, saves ya money.
