intake silencer

i recently purchaced my 2002 wrx and a few people have told me to remove my intake silencer and ram-air scoop (the black scoop in front of the air box). just wanted to get some more input on this subject

It really doesnt matter much, everyone does it. Its just like any ol' short ram intake for 0.00 dollars. And plus the sound you hear is awsome
