you'll be slower

some guys are running stuff larger than that, but most of them are relatively hardcore auto-x'ers going for really wide rubber. i've read about stuff from 17x8.5 running 245s, to 17x9.5 running 255s.

hmm really tough choice to make, i know running 18x8 the car will grip better the only thing i am concerned about are the pot holes and damage to the wheel i really dont have money to throw around and buy new one if gets damaged, overall what do u guys think is it better to go with 17's?

There's more things that go into allowable wheel size than section width and wheel diameter and width. You need to consdier wheel offset, suspension setup (particularly travel, ride height and camber).

I'd also recommend against 18s on city streets. 245/45 is substantially different over all diameter than stock.

I run 235/45 on 17x8. Feels great. My drop is a bit too much, more than the Tein specs or my High-Techs, almost 50mm

if your car is too low you will rub when you load it hard. i would reccomend 17's due to the fact that the tires are cheaper!

Can 235's fit on 17x7.5? Or do you need to have it at 8's ?
