i have a 05 WRX wagon, right now i got only an apexi cat back exhaust but next week im getting the helix up and down pipe installed. how loud will my exhaust be??

with your bov you'll definately hear and experience more back/after fire. if your apex is loud to begin with, it will magnify the sound noticably. that's how it was with mine.

it takes many years of practice to do it right .... no but your exhaust note will become more raw and you will hear alot more deeper tone.. and wut i have been told maaaaaany times is when im doing little runs up and down streets/freeways, that my tip gets full of blue flame.. and im runnin hks down to invidia cat back...

 

loud to the point where you'll get pulled over for it or get stares from cops that are too lazy to pull you over.

 

i can shoot fire out of my exhaust:banana:........ but definitely will back fire alot. i got almost the basic set up.... good choice in up/down pipe. you will be happy with the tone of your car(turbo spool is great!)

one last thing, how much will this affect my gas miles

 

it sucks....... you cant really get good gas mileage on a turbo car... its out of the question.

 

i just got an apexi catback and im running an up and down pipe. it sounds really nice, i personally like it. it gives it a nice deep, throaty rumble. when i was at a stop light yesterday, a cop compared my exhaust note to what a harley davidson sounds like hahahah.

thats not true at alll... just keep the rpms below spool up and your gas milage wont be to severe...

 

ya its not going to be as severe but it still will be a bit lower then the gas mileage he had before with stock dp/up. i noticed a drop in gas mileage(not extreme) < i tried to keep in the low rpms for one fill up.

hey dont you have to get tuned with all those mods? i thought the CAI would mess up things without tuning?

 

its not really that major to mess things up i guess...... maybe when you start upgrading your turbo and stuff then you going to need a engine management system.
