How dangerious is this?

ok
so im catless, helix up and down pipe with apexi n1 catback
so essentually a turbo back with a uppipe
and a cobb stage 2 reflash
how dangerous would it be to fill up a 1/16 or 1/8th of a tank
then put in a bottle (or two?) of octane booster.
i've read this will make me shoot flames
i only want to do this at the 1/4 mile next week unless it can hurt my engine
thanks in advance
max

I use 6-7 QUARTS of toluene(114 octane) in a tank of 93 octane.
Toluene is the primary ingredient in many 'Octane boosters'.
Won't hurt anything but your wallet using octane booster in those silly little bottles.

If you want flames, get an atmospheric venting 'BOV'...That will shoot flames.

I buy toluene at a local PPG automotive paint supply place for $26.19/5gal. out the door....So ~$1.31/qt.

Much more cost effective than silly little bottles....

Thats pretty good scotty? what city are you in?

Where I live (SFBA) and Daredevil does too, its more in the $8/gal range and comes in 1 or 5 gal cans.

Daredevil, go to Sherwin Williams. Go to one thats NOT in a residential district or near one. By law they cant sell such chemicals in those areas. Find one in a purely commecrial or better yet industrial zone.

What made you think of octane boost in conjunction w/ making fireballs? If anything I'd think higher octane would reduce fireballs... if anything

spitting fire has nothing really to do with the octane. Octane rating is just means how much the "gas" can be compressed before it explodes.

spitting fire is mostly caused by ignition cut. Car cuts ignition, fuel flows out of the exhaust valves into the hot exhaust and lights...

Octane booster only adds about .5 to the rating. They can't compare to race gas, toulene, or xylene(The stuff mmboost was mixing in my backyard, haha) . But too much toulene or xylene, it can actually eat your fuel lines.

But high octane for car with ems = acid for your car... it loves it.

I'm in florida, and I buy toluene twice a month, or so....Xylene is $3-$4/5gal more, so toluene a is better buy.
Toluene is catnip for your car...really

I would suggest calling chemical supply/paint supply wholesalers for buying bulk---5gal or more---quantities.
If I had a place to store a drum, I would have one delivered tomorrow.
