Question HKS exhaust install

Hey all
I'm planning to install a HKS Hi-Power catback and was wondering if anyone had any pointers or usefull info to make it go as smooth as possible. Anything special that may be needed and the like. I kinda remember hearing that it's best to use the kartboy exhaust hangers. anything else?
Thanks
Bryon
Almost forgot its going on a 2004 WRX so I dont think the stocker should be to beat up.

What do you mean by doghnut gasket, I have yet to be under the car and take a good look at the exhaust. No one here thinks it's necesary to purchase the new exhaust hangers or anything else?

there is doughnut shape gasket between you stock downpipe and stock catback. take that out when you put the hks on.

I have HKS-Hiper and I just used my stock hangers. And the spring bolts are ***** to get on.

Also, don't forget to scrape off the old gasket from the OEM DP. We didn't do it well enough on my buddies exhaust and it leaked like a faucet. Take the extra time to scrape most of if not all the old gasket off. It will pay dividends in the end.

Use a set of channel-lock pliers at the widest setting to compress the spring bolt so you can get a couple thread turns on the nut. Its the easiest way to get them on.

That's a pretty damn good idea! Thanks for that. I have been contemplating getting the megan racing turboback now cause its the same price as the HKS catback.
Any Opinions?

PB blaster helped me a lot.

Get a jack and some decent jackstands... i found that having long sockets along with a breaker bar made the whole install a lot more tolerable

1) Make sure you do it with a friend.
2) Make sure to leave the donut gasket off( when you take the exhaust off you will know what were talking about)
3) A lot of Patients for the spring bolts.
4) A sound proof room that you can scream in after you strip the spring bolts.
