Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Question Help me decide what's next for my 04 wrx

I need some advice. I am not sure what else I want/should do to my 04 WRX. So far I have the following items installed on my car.

Cobb Accessport (running 91 Oct Stage 2 map)
Helix Up/Down pipe
GReddy EVO Cat-back
Samco Intercooler hose
Worx BOV (I love the psssst sound)
Eibach Springs
Rota SDR Wheels
Speedmonkey Chimeny Heatshield

I am not sure what to do next. I want to keep the stock turbo if possible. I am planning to get my brakes upgraded with next year's Tax return (I hope) and a new set of shocks (KYG or Koni). Also I plan to get aftermarket swaybars for the front and rear. So I guess my real question is how do i increase my HP with out going to the bigger turbo?

You could maybe get your turbo ported/polished, I don't know a whole lot about that, you'd have to research it but that's the first thing that came to mind. Maybe headers as well?

I have a question though, I'm on my way to an identical exhaust setup to yours, I was just wondering what times you have run at the track if you have been with your present setup? Just curious, not meaning to hijack the thread...

To get the big HP numbers you have to do the turbo, fuel rails, injectors, fuel pump....... then replace the IC.

What about EcuTek with some tuning....... seems like you have alot of nice bolt-ons but are a little afraid to commit to a big tune with major gains.....

So far at the track the best time i got so far is 14.2 I am still having trouble launching my car. Also I have a slight problem shifting from 1st to 2nd. It just doesn't want to go smoothly and I have to use a little bit extra just to get into 2nd from 1st. Also I seem to be maxing out 3rd gear as reach the finish line. So i might try to shift at around 6K - 6.5K rpm intead of redline.

Yeah I am afraid to commit to the big stuff. Mainly cause this is my daily driver and I dont have a beater car to drive around while the car is getting worked on. Also if I do decide to go big and do the turbo, fuel fails, injectors, etc. will my tranny be again to handle the power? Will i need to get the STi RA gears or something along those line that are stronger than the stock ones?

If California isn't so strict about emissions i might go that way. But i can't do anything about it. And I was thinking about going with the new Helix DP with Cat so I can have at least 1 cat and i can get rid the smell from running catless.

Why is the TGV a good mod, besides emissions?

If you want big power #s, you'll have to go w/ a turbo.

Otherwise, do a search for Monster TD04 or something like that.

Not many HP mods I can think of that are left.

Is a MBC a good investment?
