help...boost problem
i have spent two days (at Gruppe-S) trying to figure out the problem, of why i can boost to 17lbs. We tried replacing all the parts related to the boost controller (profec e-01) but only getting 10lbs. This is actually more boost than it was boosting before (8lbs). I was able to get higher boost with the stock solenoid (11lbs). We figured out that its was not the turbo(VF30) that is bad. We ran it without any solenoids just atmosphere and it boosted fine. We even changed the actuator on the turbo, but no luck. Going to make sure nothing is clogging up the hoses tommorrow. Anyone with a simular problem or any other suggestions.
thanks

Pull the line off the wastegate and go run it... See what it does, but watch closely as you dont want to blow anything up

If you pull the wasegate line, you should make almost instant boost. But yes its not controlled.
If it makes the boost, then you know the turbo isnt the problem.
Try a different method of controlling the boost.

Just keep trying until something works. It has to be in the controllers if the turbo is fine.

What mods do you have? If the car isn't working stock, take it in under warranty. Normally your warranty would be useless after using a boost controller, but since it may be the stock solenoid itself that is bad, they should be willing to take a look, as long as you don't have too many other power mods.

i actually have a greddy profec e-01 boost controller as well as the stock solenoid, but niether is working properly. I feel like there might be something inside one of the hose that might be denying me boost. But i don't even know if that is possible.

Pull the boost lines off one at a time and check, but start with the one that has the restrictor in it. Sometimes it can get turned sideways, and block the signal completely.
