I recieved my Helix downpipe today, but it looks different than what the pic on a website looked like. Maybe someone here can fill me in.

Here is too pics. this one is the pic of a helix downpipe I got off of the Gruppe-S website.

Notice the area I circled red.

 

Now here is the Helix downpipe I received today. Is it suppose to be missing the bracket? What is the second bracket different than the one on Gruppe-S's website? Also is there a reason for the different color at the end of the pipe? I just want to make sure that I got the right item sent to me.

I've been looking to go with a turbo-back sytem on my 04 wagon. I like the bellmouth design of the Helix pipe and the price point is within my budget.

I'm thinking of going with the Helix downpipe and a Borla Hush system. (I don't want my system obnoxiously loud, but I would like to hear it)

Three questions for anyone who has answers...
Should I expect to get a CEL thrown with this sytem, and if so, is there an easy fix?

And lastly, can I expect that the Helix will mate with the Hush system? I heard that Borla's flange has a different design than most.

Any help would be appreciated.

but u can get the cel fix from almost any vendor... or if ur a DIY get a restrictor @ radio shack and hack it in there....

you can get a cel fix, just do some simple sauldering and you're set

 

i think you will have to have a muffler shop or other auto shop weld the proper flange on to the borla car back system or tweak it so it hooks up the right way. it uses a flange that hooks up to the stock down pipe but not the helix down pipe. the helix uses a flat flangw while the borla has a donut flange. yeah, they will bolt together but you will get a small leak w/o modding it.

The reason your downpipe looks different is because its the newer Helix v2 downpipe. The picture you got off their website shows the v1 downpipe that had some fitment issues that were fixed in v2.

yea i have the helix DP and that is the one, dont worry that is the helix

 

The helix dp that you got is our latest dp... the reason why the upper bracket is not there anymore is because the helix dp is a one piece design. there for you'll only need one bracket... also this dp will fit a 6-speed ....which the ver1 dp ..the first pix... will only fit a 5speed tranny...

One last question for ya. When I install the Helix uppipe and downpipe will I have to modify any of the heat shield?
