going faster without warranty prob's
Ok, so what mods are the best bet for the WRX that won't compromise warranty. I'm up for anything with my car so long as the factory people don't know/don't care about it. If I go with an aftermarket boost controller or engine management, can I remove these before taking my car to the shop every time (relatively easily)?

Consider getting an ECUTEK reflash, it's un-noticable without having them go and check the parameters of your computer or check it's reading I think, and your car will be faster. But you really should at least do some basic mods, like na upipe, or turboback exhuast and Samco IC hoses etc. They will net you awesome power gains and decrease backpressure, and decrease the chance of detonation. If you get those mods that I listed and an Ecutek reflash your car will be making between 220-230WHP and could run low 13s in the quarter mile.
As far as the warranty goes, ANYTHING you do can get warranty work denied, depending on the circumstances etc. Even something as simple as an K&N airfilter, eg. if you have MAF sensor problems they will blame it on the filter.
So if your really worried about your car breaking and not getting warranty then don't mod your car. If you do start modding it and run into an problem and it can be linked back to, or is connected with whatever mods you did(even if they didn;t cause the problem) expect to pay for the fix yourself IMO.

Wrong on the ECUTEK. A ECU reflash leaves a log that cannot be erased and can be read by a factory technician. If they notice it it will void your warranty as well.
Anything theoretically voids your warranty. If you are concerned only buy parts that are easy to remove. A turbo back exhaust and a piggy back ECU (UTEC or XEDE) are my favorite. The up-pipe is a little more labor intensive if you are worried about removing it.
