getting ready to give up

i've had my 02 WRX since 06. it ran great for a whole year until cyl 3 misfired. i would erase it and after a couple of days, it would do the same thing but it would switch from cyl 3 or 1 or 2 sometimes even all of them. i finally called my cousin to have a look at it. what happened was i had a cracked head and some bent valves.

he was working on it for 13 months (no bs). i got the car back on Christmas eve 08. it ran great for a whole month but the same thing happened again. today was no exception but very odd. to think that its pretty much a brand new engine with all the work done to it, it started misfiring again.

i do not know what else to do. i am at the brink of just letting my car go. can somebody help me? any help would greatly be appreciated. thank you for reading my thread.

Hmm, the only thing I would look into since its new head and all is the coil packs themselves and plugs and possibly the injectors.

How familiar is your cousin with the EJ20? I'm not knocking on your cousin in any way. I would try and contact the shops up north LIC and DBtuned. I'm sure they'll take care of you.

Don't give up!

Bring it to EQ Tuning at Ed. If you can't make it that far. Most of the Bay Area shops here are really good, can't go wrong.

update on the car:

i was driving headed to work and the CEL just turned off. i pulled to the side of the road to see if it actually did turn off or the bulb or fuse went bad. turn the car on (not starting it) and sure enough the bulb is good. what could have caused to make it turn off?
