after doing quite a bit of uninformative searches i'm left to ask what is a good gasket to use when i'm putting my block back together after doing all my internals. my buddy recommended one company at 100 bucks a gasket and i just wanted to view other's opinions. not that it's terribly important but i obviously want the best i can get, last thing i'd want is problems due to a gasket failure... fyi i'm trying to push 500 hp/ torque.
thanks & peace.

Well im not sure about which company, but you definitely get a metal head gasket and more importantly go with some ARP headstuds. I've seen these head studs on 600hp dsm and supras with even more hp and they've held strong with no probs. I know that Blitz makes headgaskets for the SR20det and supras so check them out. Hope this helps

Stock headgaskets are plenty good, but at those power levels I'd strongly consider going with thicker gaskets to slightly reduce your compression ratio. Cometic makes a good set of thicker ones, and there are some other options as well. Contact Axis Power Racing or Crawford Performance about head gasket options for high-performance builds.
