"Factory" WRX Performance Exhaust
Anyone have any experience with the WRX Performance Exhaust option? I hear it's a Bosal system and I know it's cat. back. I'm thinking about having it installed at the dealer just to avoid any issues with warranty. Do you think it'll add anything to performance or just a little sound?

Here's as close as I can get you on the factory site.
http://www.subaru.com/servlet/showro...mmand=overview
On the left under "Research Models", you will see "Accesories". Click on this then scroll down to "WRX Performance Exhaust System".
It really doesn't give you a whole lot of information. I checked with the dealer and he said it would be coverd under warranty. Whattaya' think?

That is not a catback .... it is a muffler therefore you will not gain any HP from it .... all you will get is more sound! $400+ for a muffler is mighty expensive ....
Haha reason it doesn't void your warranty is coz it doesn't do squat, except create more noise!
Do your self a favor and get a Turbo back exhaust when you have the money saved up =)

Doh!! 'Shows what I know. I guess I assumed that this was going all the way back to the rear cat. After looking into it, I see it only makes its way to the resonator. Thanks for setting me straight. Yeah, it is pretty expensive for just a muffler.
I also thought that "cat. back" meant just that, from the cat. back. Did I screw that one up too?
So what's the story on the prodrive? I hear that Subaru can be a little hard to deal with on warranting mods. Will the prodrive screw me up here?
Thanks for dealing with my exhaust inexperience, and thanks for the help.

well depends how mod friendly your dealer is.
Ask around and see who maybe mod friendly.
Also if it doesnt pertain to the exhaust when u go in for your warrenty issue, then most likely no it wont void. UNless they make some bogus excuse which some may tend to do just watch out. I am sure if your light bulb went out, they are not gonna blame the muffler for it.
As the for the prodrive i just purchased one, they are not too many left in the USA so you better get on it very quickly. I was "told" mine was one of the last ten in the US. (lol) Sounds nice, and looks more stock then a 4 inch CAn. Plus I am guessing SPT is more expensive from the dealer. And plsu prodrive is what makes subaru and true rally inspired car

'Sounds good, I'll look into it. There are a few places that say they have 'em but I'll have to check.
Yeah, prodrive puts the rally in the Subaru. Now all I have to do is come up with some Titanium OZ wheels and I'll be all set
.
Thanks again.

if u decide to get a catback(yes from the catalystic converters on out) exhaust, and u are afraid of bringing it into the dealer for some work to be done in the future, just take the catback off
It's only 2 bolts....
