External Waste Gate

Hey Guys, How do I go about putting a External waste gate on a stock turbo (vf39).
What company offers these parts and about how much would it be. Would it be an advantage to have an external waste gate than a stock one? Thanx

internal WG can only hold 1.1-1.2 bar

a spring can get it high

the external WG there is teh bling factor and higher boost

same thing as an internal wastegate. you either have one or the other. If you're asking what the purpose of a is (internal or external) then here ya go. More info than I could type in an hour.

I don't think the stock turbo will use the external waste gate to the full potential
it was desigened for.

w/ proper tuning an EWG'd stock will make more power than a properly tuned IWG stocker....I just put an EWG on my 20G, I used the UR EWG Uppipe & dump tube.

i read something about a guy on nabisco who put an ewg on his td04. The tuner said it was probably the funnest stock turbo'd wrx he'd driven. Let me see if i can find the link.
I thought about this too but I thought i'd just wait until i mess with the turbo. And with the wg welded shut it would probably be a little harder to sell it.

for mechanically locking the IWG shut, you'd have to fab up a bracket to hold the IWG shut.
