Exhaust sounds sh*tty after a week

So heres the problem, I installed a used Stromung dual tip cat-back , about 1 week ago. It sounded great , nice boxer rumble and what not.

So now whenever I turn my car on it sounds very raspy-like. The rumble is still there, but doesnt sound anything like the first day I had it on.

I also used new gaskets when I installed it, and also left the donut gasket that connects to the cat.

So do I need to remove that donut gasket? Or are the bolts just not tightened enough?

Thanks any help would be appreciated.

Maybe a leak? Just double check on it and see what you find. Retorque the bolts and check gaskets for any exhaust leaks.

+1^ If anything it should a bit quieter as carbon builds up in the exhaust. Get up underneath and make sure all the fasteners are tight. Header bolts, uppipe, whatever. I like my bolts like my women, very tight. Loktite is my friend as well (for my car). If you have jackstands/car ramps, sometimes you can isolate where noise is eminating from.

Do you have an after market header? I was running a helix up/downpipe with the Stromung catback and it already sounded a little raspy... once I installed a gruppe-s header, I had to get rid of the catback because it sounded too raspy. What it really needs is a resonator.

No, its completely stock engine wise, just the catback.

Yeah so I'll check to see if the bolts unfastened itself.

And the donut gasket I left in there shouldn't be a factor to the problem, right?

It really depends to be honest. What kind of gasket is it? Is it a copper one or OEM material?

I believe it's the OEM donut gasket. Should I change it to a copper one?
