I got the HKs ti....great gains as far as hp/tq are great. rated at 12hp gains. It been a long time since i first put it on but u can feel the difference.
bad side is that its cost a ton(750xx) and some people consider it to loud. Its not a honda loud which is good but u can hear/feel the rumble of that thing especially when u had the dp and midpipe.
if u have any other question just ask
frederick

well i almost bought a hks untill i went to the local car show that we ahve and i saw it on a car.
I mean i love the hp gains it gives but omg the tip on that sucker is HUGE to say the least and i got turned off by that so im looking for a new exuast so if the size of the tip bothers you i wouldn't get this exuast b/c the tip is like 4 inches wide.

anyone know the size comparison between the hks and the blitz because i have done some research and found that they both give the most hp gains, and i was going to get the hks b/c it gives the most hp gains but DAMMMN i don't wanna tip that size man wowzers, and i also want a good non rice sounding exuast, its so tough to get it all in one package. I have heard a bpm exuast on a rex and omg i fell in love except my friend told me he would rip it off my car if i bought it. My other friend has a tanabe and it sounds awesome too but the size of the tip is like wow.
So anyone got any recommendations for me.

go for the HKS
dude, i got one. it does not even come close to sounding ricey. my buddy's got a prodrive; when he first saw mine, he was just like you guys, i think he too might have actually said "wowsa!" when he saw the tip; but anyways, he shut his mouth as soon as he heard it. i'm pretty sure he has tip envy now.
the HKS does stand out a bit more than the rest:
it has black hole galaxy sized tip
its angled toward the drivers side
it hangs a bit lower than the stocker
i paid 680 for it and feel good about it everytime i get past 3000 rpms... bwuaaahaaahaaa
if your first concern is the noise, then you should listen to one first. i leave for work about 5:30 in the morning, and sometimes i feel a little guilty of the noise if the neighbor's windows are open, but they've never said anything, so i'm not too worried. the only ones who did say something are the proud owners of a completely stock rex, so they like to come over and drool when they see stuff like the HKS. one sidenote is that i love the carbon muffler cause i think its less blingbling. cause its black (instead of polished stainless), it makes it stand out less underneath the car.
here's what i think the HKS carbon/ti says:
"ah, you didn't see me sneakin' up on ya, did you? Now i'm here, and i'm gonna eat'chya for dinna!"
just my thoughts later, Bennie

You may have never heard of the company, but they make parts for WRX's in Australia. They are BPM and they make an outstanding LOUD SMALL turboback setup. It's a full 3" system with a divorced wastegate. The muffler is a 3-chamber setup that increasees the rate of exhaust discharge (works on the same principle as an airplane wing).
It's called the Mkiii Twister. Definitely one of the nicer sounding exhausts. Even though it's loud. You really hear how nice it sounds once you get up past 5,000 RPM. Smooth. Not raspy at all. Smooth sound all the way to the rev-limiter.
There is only one distributor left here in the states (I believe) and I'm not sure who it is, but if you can find it, GET IT!

edit: I may be wrong about where they are headquartered, and the number of distributors. Here is a link to their U.S. Distributor page. Good luck, and check it out.

I just got the HKS Hiper cat-back on Friday. I love the sound. Loud but not too loud. I noticed a change in where in the RPM range that the car pulls. At first, I thought it was slower but it was just that it changed where the peaks and valleys were. I am happy with it.
its like this
it depend all on what you want??
proformance or look/sound. As far as hp gains, after extensive research i have found that the blitz nur spec cat back exhasust has the most hp gains for a cat back system. About an average of 15 hp. this exhaust runs for about 500$ to 600$ but you can find good deals online if you look hard enough. i have one on my 03 suby and what a diffrence from stock, but if you dont like the sound of roring flat 4 then this is not the one to get. plus one more thing the rex's have a boxer engine so no bee in a soda can, ricer, sound.. it sounds a hell of a lot deeper and personally i love the deep sound a boxer engine produces. also with the blitz exhaust you get a resonator (silencer) but this restricts hp gains but is good to have in case you live in cali and wish not to be harrased by jonny law, but ultimatly the choice is yours homie.

I have to agree with that you can't get the "ricey" sound from boxer engine.
I have Tanabe Super Racing Medalion and love it. It comes with a silencer and will sound pretty much stock if you leave it in. Otherwise, it the sigature boxer engine at WOT.

just get the HKS. plain and simple. However if you dont want attention from cops a good choice would be the stromung 3" dual tip exhaust. Looks like stock but has straight flow 3" piping all the way from the cat with no resonator
Im planning on gettin it but i need to save up some more cash first
